I moved into Allen mid-year as a sophom*ore. Although it is hard to adjust to such a large school, you will find your group and your sense of belonging. Although I have not been too involved in the school, I'm grateful for the resources and classes they provide. As an AP student, I experience more high-quality resources and have an array of courses to select from. The teachers are helpful and you have many opportunities to meet with them. They even have the Testing Center and the Tutoring Center to take advantage of! Cafeteria food is really good but make sure to pay attention to the prices and changes. Oh, and another thing! Allen has a store inside the building for the Business Practicum where the students earn valuable experience within the job and business. For those who are interested in the STEAM center or Collin, the shuttle buses may be extremely crowded and noisy and the buses are sometimes late.

I attended Allen High School and had a positive experience. The school offers many AP and honors classes, and the teachers are knowledgeable and passionate. Numerous extracurricular activities, including clubs, sports, and fine arts, helped me develop skills and friendships. The facilities are excellent, and there's a strong school spirit. However, the large student body can be overwhelming, and the competitive environment can be stressful. Traffic and parking are also challenging. Improvements could include smaller class sizes, more mental health resources, and better traffic management. Despite these issues, Allen High School provided a solid educational foundation and many growth opportunities, making the positives outweigh the negatives.

Allen high school was a great experience for me and my family, and an even better decision for the long run. Allen allows everyone an equal opportunity to succeed throughout their high-school experience. It's facilities and faculty allow for a healthy and professional environment for the students that attend every day class. Though Allen is a nearly perfect school in all aspects the only prospect it lacks is a variable schedule. Many schools in Texas are implementing a later start time and release time for all students. This decision was implemented so that students can enjoy more time to sleep if they so happen to have homework that runs into the night. Only research shows that this change in schedule has produced a positive impact on tardiness and how attentive students are during a lesson. I personally recommend this decision to Allen high school because I struggled with a poor sleep schedule during most of my school year and it affected my education dearly.
